Can I cancel my claim and will I be charged?

1. Your Right to Cancel (14-Day Cooling-Off Period)

You have the right to cancel your Agreement within 14 days without charge.

The cooling-off period expires 14 days after you sign the Letter of Authority.

To cancel within this period, you must notify Reclaim My Money Limited in writing.

Notice of cancellation is deemed to be served as soon as it is posted or emailed.

No fee will be payable if you cancel within the 14-day cooling-off period.

2. Termination After the Cooling-Off Period

You have the right to terminate your Agreement at any time after the 14-day cooling-off period and before an offer of redress is made by the Third Party.

However, Reclaim My Money Limited reserves the right to charge a reasonable termination fee for work completed up to the date of termination.

The termination fee will be:

£55 + VAT per completed claim stage
Up to a maximum of £165 + VAT

The amount charged will depend on the stage your claim has progressed to within the internal claims process prior to your termination.

Reclaim My Money Limited will provide you with:

  • An itemised bill detailing the work carried out; and
  • Confirmation of the termination fee payable.

3. Termination by Reclaim My Money Limited

Reclaim My Money Limited may terminate your Agreement at any time in accordance with the terms of your Engagement Agreement.

No fee will be payable if:

  • Reclaim My Money Limited determines that your claim is unlikely to succeed; and
  • You have fulfilled your obligations under the Agreement.

4. Important Information

  • All cancellation and termination requests must be made directly to Reclaim My Money Limited.
  • Evans Hughes Ltd does not handle cancellations or termination of claim agreements.
  • Any fees payable are governed by your signed Agreement with Reclaim My Money Limited.

How can I track the progress of my car finance claim?

Our partners will keep you updated at every stage, ensuring your car finance refund remains on track.

You’ll receive regular progress updates and always know exactly where your claim stands.

What are motor finance claims?

The FCA is investigating historic car finance practices, including the use of discretionary commission arrangements. In some cases, these practices may not have been clearly explained to customers and could give rise to complaints or claims, depending on individual circumstances. Whether compensation is payable will depend on the specific facts of each agreement and the outcome of the FCA’s ongoing work.
